Get started.
- Open Button! and tap Give permission to allow Screen Time access.
- Name your button for the thing you want to do.
- Choose which apps to block, or which apps should stay available.
- Choose your days and times, then tap Start Buttoning!
Did it? Press it.
Once you’ve done your thing, press the button to unlock your phone. Your selected apps become available, and the button turns green. Pressing is your confirmation that you’ve done the task.
When does it turn red again?
At your next scheduled time. Your button stays green until then, including overnight. A press before the next scheduled time does not skip that upcoming lock.
Choose your blockers.
Open the cog, then find Blockers. Use Block all apps except to keep selected apps available, or Block only these apps to restrict selected apps, categories, and websites. Tap Add apps to change the list, then save.
The allowed list supports individual apps. Apple controls which system apps and functions can be restricted.
Change your routine.
Open Settings to rename your button or choose different days and times. Turn off Same time each day to give each selected day its own time. Save your changes when you’re done.
Pressed it by accident?
Touch and hold the green button, then confirm Undo. The button returns to red and apps are restricted again if your schedule is due.
Pause blocking.
Open Settings, switch Enabled off, and save. Your settings are kept for when you want to enable the button again.
Apps aren’t blocking?
Check that the button is enabled, the day and time are selected, and your Blockers list includes the apps you want to restrict. Check Button!’s Screen Time access in iOS Settings, then open Button! and save your settings again. If you still need help, email the address above with your iOS version and what happened. You don’t need to share your button title or private app selections.
